In anticipation of the mixed face ground conditions, this project’s specifications required soil consolidation by grouting to prevent future settlement of the highway due to loss of ground. Rice Lake Construction Group monitored the highway’s settlement prior to, during and post construction and no settlement was detected. This tunnel consisted of 175LF of 58” O.D. 0.750 wall steel casing pipe with 36” RCP carrier pipe inside.
