University of Minnesota Tunnels

Rice Lake Construction Group made four tunnels totaling 278 LF of 42” RCP and steel casing pipe for this University of Minnesota project. One tunnel was direct jacking 42” T-Lock lined RCP, while the remainder were casings with carrier pipe inside. One of the cased tunnels was terminated at an existing manhole and the connection was made at the tunnel face with excavation of the street. All tunnels were consolidation grouted to prevent the settlement of the existing surface.
